"The old five sessions", are refer the university students who were in the school when "the Great Cultural Revolution" started. They specifically included 66th to 70th sessions of university students. Although they once was "the Great Cultural Revolution" "vanguard", but continuously actually has been neglected and forgotten by people. This article selects "the old five sessions" as the research object, takes the social psychology as the research angle of view, and divides "the Great Cultural Revolution" into the earlier period, the intermediate stage and the later period three stages basing on the psychological change path" of "the old five sessions". It emphatically inspected the frantic psychological motive of "the old five sessions" in the initial period of "the Great Cultural Revolution", that "the old five sessions" were at a loss and is weary of "the Great Cultural Revolution" in the intermediate stage of "the Great Cultural Revolution" as well as the rational return of "the old five sessions" in the later period of "the Great Cultural Revolution", The article approximately outlines idea course of "the old five sessions" which was from blindly followed Mao Zedong, frantically to join in "the Great Cultural Revolution" to awaken to the self-awareness, has the suspicion to "the Great Cultural Revolution" until the denial and the resistance at "the Great Cultural Revolution" the period. We have obtained the experience lesson from the idea course of "the old five sessions" that people must persist the independent thinking.
