Study Of Assigning Chinese Name Of Indonesian Cities

Chinese people can be found in many places where there is sunshine, Chinesepeople immigration to Indonesia have a long history, the historical reasons haveeffected the society of Chinese people in Indonesia.This paper studies the influences of Chinese culture and dialects upon the Chinesename of Indonesian Cities. It includes three parts. (1) The influence of famousChinese ancients upon the Chinese name of Indonesian Cities; (2) The influence oflocal culture upon the Chinese name of Indonesian Cities: (3) The phonetic analysis ofChinese dialects to the Chinese name of Indonesian Cities.In the part (1) and (2), the paper separately discuss from 2 ways, the influence offamous Chinese ancients, and the influence of local cuture upon the Chinese name ofIndonesian Cities. We conclude that Chinese name of Indonesian Cities displayChinese Culture along with the moving of Chinese people to the south enrich thesocial culture in Indonesia; Chinese dialect name of Indonesian Cities reflect eachancestral home culture of the Chinese etnis.In the last part, we discuss the phonetic analysis of Minnan dialect (includingChaozhou dialect), Cantonese dialect and Hakka dialect, that influence the Chinesename of Indonesian Cities. Announce to public that Chinese dialects influence withcharacteristic and regulation on the Chinese name of Indonesian Cities.
