In this paper we analyze the sentence pattern of "you+VP" through variousmethods such as transform analysis, contrast analysis and so on. This essay analyzesthe structure "you+VP" from the aspects of syntactic structures, semantics andpragmatics.We put forward conclusions as follows:1. Trough the analysis of grammatical function and grammatical meaning of "eyou" in the "you+VP" structure, we find that "you" is Adverb. Syntactically thisadverb maily restricts verbs.2. In the sentence pattern of "you+VP", the concept of "bounded" and"unbounded" have function of restriction to the ommssion or appearance of "you".3. The selectinal restriction of NP, VP in the "you+VP" sentence pattern.4. Sematically "you" in the structure "you+VP" can modify the verb andverb-phrase.5.
