| The naming of TV program is not only an art of language, but also a comprehensive art of linguistics, communication studies, economics, sociology, culture study, psychology and so on. This thesis observes and studies more than 1500 program names of provincial satellite TV from the linguistic perspective, employing both quantitative and qualitative analytic methods. The thesis mainly focuses on the following aspects: the using of the characters and the words, the features of the words choosing and the semantic connotations, the naming characteristics, the naming trends, the existing problems and some related proposals.First, we carry on the statistics on the general distributive situation to the using of the characters and the words in the provincial satellite TV and the analysis to its statistical result, the using of the characters mainly studies the characters appearance, the number of characters and the character symbols specially, the using of the words mainly studies the pronunciation including the syllable and the temperament, and the grammar structure specially; Second, we specially observe and study the features of the words choosing and the semantic connotations, carry on a detailed classification, analyze and appraise every classified kinds from lexical, semantic and pragmatic perspectives; In the third chapter, we summarize the naming characteristics of TV program, and separately reveal the main characteristics in the three comparisons of provincial satellite TV and CCTV, provincial satellite TV and provincial ground channel, city and regional channel, within provincial satellite TV; Fourth, we conclude and sum up three big naming trends; Finally, we summarize the problems existing in naming, and put forward some proposals related to the problems.
