On The Production Mechanism Of Contemporary Chinese Avant-garde Novel

With the production characteristics of contemporary literature displaying increasingly, when studying a kind of important literary phenomenon, we can't limit at the analysis and evaluation to the writers and their works only. We should bring the material condition and production relation of the literary phenomenon's generation into the research field. That is to say, we should pay great attention to the production, dissemination and acceptation model of the literature and their interactive relations.This thesis, mainly based on the theory of literary field of French sociologist Bourdieu and the method of cultural study, investigates the dynamic state process of the contemporary Chinese avant-garde novel's occurrence, building and transformation in 1980's, from the angle of production mechanism. We discover that the key factors that influence the building of the avant-garde novel include the social context mechanism, the transmission mechanism and the value production mechanism. We also observe the paradox that the avant-garde novel prevails because of the literary production mechanism at the time and eliminates inevitably at the end because it excessively depends on the production mechanism. This exposes a limitation that the building and development of a kind of literary phenomenon excessively depends on the literary production mechanism strength. It is also an important referenced value provided by special existence destiny of the contemporary Chinese avant-garde novel to the moment literature production.
