Shuang Diao of north music has an important position in the music literature ofYuan, Ming and Qing dynasty. It has outstanding characteristics in contrast to othermodels and been used in both San Qu and Za Ju usually and stably. The origin andvariation, form characteristics, tunes classification, combination and join of ShuangDiao of north music are studied and analyzed in this paper, in which tunes of ShuangDiao are textually researched and the general characteristic and regulations areinduced and summarized. There are three parts in the paper:In chapters 1, several questions related to Shuang Diao of north music areinduced, for example, the origin of north music, several important operns of northmusic, tune system and Shuang Diao system of north music. Tunes of different namein the related literature are gathered.In chapters 2, classifying tunes of Shuang Diao with textual research, finding outrepresentative tunes of every class, investigating the process of talking-and-singing artand Ci Yue turning into drama music and tracing origin and developing direction oftunes of Shuang Diao.In Chapters 3, the application of tunes in the San Tao and Ju Tao is analyzed.Writer and work are listed. Regulations of combination join and Xian Lv Ru ShuangDiao are induced. Turning process and developing trends are investigated.Conclusion, In the ending words, graveness and reasonability of former researcher incollecting tunes of Shuang diao are proved but it still need modern researchers towork.
