On The System Of Preferential Treatment To The Red Army In The Central Soviet Area

Since its establishment in 1927, people's army has undergone an eighty- year-history with hardships and difficulties, growing bigger and stronger and progressing from the stout backbone of the revolutionary base area to the Great Wall of the people's republic. As part of its favorable policies, the system of preferential treatment to the armymen, especially that of the Red Army in the Central Soviet Area, is one main factor that promotes its development, the research of which is of outstanding significance and practical value, because it has been acting as the basis of the system of preferential treatment to armymen of the People's Republic of China.The system of preferential treatment to armymen, a general designation of giving special treatment and comforting and compensating armymen and their families, means that the state and society, according to related law, physically give special treatment to those who contributed to and sacrificed for defending the country and protecting people's interest, comfort and compensate their families, and make arrangements for and grant assistance to veterans appropriately. Giving special treatment refers to the political and economical favorable treatment; comforting and compensating armymen and their families includes two parts, namely, bestowing political honor and psychotical comfort, and providing monetary or material assistance. Army having played an important role during the seizing, defending and stabilizing of a regime, it is necessary to bring the system of preferential treatment to armymen into effect thoroughly in order to eliminate their worries about families, to accelerate the development and expansion of the army, to promote the relationship between the army and the people, and to ensure the stability of the sociaty.Using the theory of social security study for reference, and depending on newspapers and magazines at that time and the related history materials, this thesis aims to discuss the system of preferential treatment to the Red Army in the Central Soviet Area in such respects as the preconditions and social environment of its establishment, main measures that were taken during its implement and the evaluation of the system, with the purpose of bringing forward my opinions on its achievements and shortages. The establishment and development of the system of preferential treatment to the Red Army in the Central Soviet Area is actually a kind of exploration. Both the theory and practice of the system sets a stable foundation for that of the People's Republic of China and its experience and lessons worth our research, consultation and assimilation.
