A Study Of Shaoyong's Poetry

Shao Yong is a famous Neo-Confucianism of the middle period of the Northern Song Dynasty, who is called " Five Saints of Northern Song Dynasty " with Zhang Zai, Zhou Dunyi, Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi. Shao Yong enjoys the lofty position in the history of philosophy, his thought of philosophy has always been paid attention to, and his research results are rich. Simultaneously Shao Yong is also a poet with abundant works. Different from other Neo-Confucianism, Shao Yong doesn't forget his poetry creation while doing his scholarly research. Even when he is very old "the year abhors the poem to be crazy", he composes poems for self-entertainment. He admits "strikes soil 3,000", his poetry anthology" Yichuan Strikes Soil Collection",which stores 1583 poems today ,he leads all Neo-Confucianism in storing poems. Shao Yong has a set of poems to advocate of his own, he does not creat poetry by rule, his language is simple like speech but meaningful and impressive, getting great skill by chance. Among all poets of the Song Dynasty, his poems are unique, Yan Yu calls his poems "Shao Kang Jieti". However, we do not have a consistent opinion on appraising Shao Yong's poetry. Those who love Shao Yong like Xin Qiji says "I like Shao Yong's poetry Specially ". Those who are tired of Shao Yong says his poems are ryhme of collected sayings printed in lecture. In view of the research on Shao Yong's harmony poetry are relatively weak, this article analysises Shao Yong's poetry creation thoroughly, summarizes his success and failure in artistic creation. The purpose is to give his poetry creation a comprehensive, objective and fair appraisal in the history of literature.The thesis introduces the contemporary research condition of Shao Yong's poetry in the introduction, and points out the necessity of research on Shao Yong's poetry. The first chapter makes a brief introduction to his life experience, his manner on the world and his workachievement on the background which Shao Yong lived, to judge Shao Yong and his times. The second chapter analyzes Shao Yong's position on the poetry creation, and points out no matter the study on the joyful poem, or no limit on the rules of his tonal pattern, no strive for recitation painstakingly, he creats a kind of esthetics mode ,which is amiable ,smooth, and meaningful. The third chapter divides his work into five kinds roughly, the philosophy poem, the epic poem, the chant poem, the poem of forest and mountain streams and the peaceful poem, analyzes his poetry work specifically. The fourth chapter carries out a research into the artistic feature of Shao Yong's harmony poetry, discusses his poetry creation and loses from the principle entering the poem, the light poem, breaking classical Chinese poetry rule and so on. The fifth chapter appraises the status of Shao Yong's harmony poetry in the literature history, and gives a further introduction to the creation influence of his poetry.
