A Study On Spiritual Beings Of Buddhism In Dunhuang Manuscripts And Related Problems

Records of spiritual Beings Buddhism in Dunhuang are important part of Dunhuang Manuscripts. The center of the thesis is records of Tang Taizong going to the hell and records of Dao Ming coming back from the hell, which are researched as an emphasis after narrating the course of records of spiritual Beings of Buddhism's development. Specifically, comparing the records of Tang Taizong going to the hell with the records of Chao Ye Jian Zai of Zhangzhuo, founding out and analyzing some new characteristics of inferno theory in Sui and Tang dynasty, researching the popularity of Buddhism and it's effect. In the part of records of Dao Ming coming back from the hell, I express my points on the basis of views of others. At last, I analyze some new kind of function of Records of spiritual Beings of Buddhism in Sui and Tang dynasty.
