The Perspective Of The Developmental Characteristics Of Chinese Television Animation

Following the cinematic animation, television animation has been a popular animation form around the world. In the 80-year history of domestic animation industry, although a number of early cinematic animations had gained great acclaim throughout the world, the Chinese television animation fell into recession in its period. Especially in the open market, the overflow of imported overseas animations shown on the domestic television screen brought great impacts on the domestic industry. Until recent years, Chinese television animation has just met the chance for the industrial prosper under the protective policy of the government.This study aims to explore the developmental characteristics of Chinese television animation. It uses the methods of historical analysis and textual analysis, to study the developmental characteristics of Chinese television animation in the history; and to study the characteristics of the animation production. In the end, the article puts forward five suggestions for the industry, including regarding the notion of divided audience, intensifying entertainment elements, combining nationality and modernization, improving industrialization and participating the global market.This article provides a systemic study of the developmental characteristics of Chinese television animation. It also introduces television study approaches into animation studies. Besides, the case analysis in this article offers valuable detailed investigation to the field of animation studies.
