On The Humanism Of The Early Poem Written In Vernacular

Humanism which was mainly represented by the humanism in the Renaissance originated from the western countries. This thought was embodied by pursuing the value of individual and confirming the significance of the real life. Humanists believed that human beings are one part of the nature and pursuing happiness is the right given by the God and the resource developing the society. The main contents of humanism included that humanity was nature desire and individual personality, which was helpful to realize the self-consciousness and arouse the human consciousness. Compared with the West, Chinese humanism had the tradition of Confucians and Taoists. Taoists maintained that every people had freedoms, self-respect and power to make decision, which was familiar with the western humanism. On the contrary, Confucians stressed on that individual should follow with the benefit of society, group. The thought of Confucians and Taoists was the whole humanism of China.Because of the difference between Chinese and western humanism, the western humanism dispelled and obtained Confucians' central position. This made May 4^th humanism of human liberty came to its own, which was mainly displayed in the literary works. Compared with the other literary forms, poetry is the best one to reflect the reality. So the poetry in the May 4^th embodied the humanism feature that combined the west and east thought of humanism.The present study of poetry mainly employed historical and cultural viewpoints to describe the birth, development and form-building, then it was lack of the humanism angle. The paper wanted to study the free verse written in the vernacular, especial its. In the paper, the humanism of free verse written in the vernacular contained the perceptual enlightening spirit, rational consciousness, the spirit of reality and patriotic feeling, which could give us some historical supporting to re-establish the spirit of poetry and some supplementary to the study of the free verse written in the vernacular.The part of introduction gave a brief definition to the early period of new poems written in the vernacular, generally discussed the significance of topic selecting and present research situation. The conclusion expounded the influence and absence of the early poets' humanism, and point out the present significance of analyzing the early poets' humanism.
