David Herbert Lawrence (1885-1930) was an original British writer at the beginning of the 20th century. D. H. Lawrence may be well described as a poet without a mask. He began and ended his writing-career as a poet. He recorded his happiness and sadness with over 1000 poems which become an important part in his witing From the very first. Lawrence's works have been a good illustration for the discussion of body language, especially in some descriptions of sex. In the thesis, the author will focus on Lawrence's body language in the poems, a strange. powerful and useful weapon against the stale society, and analyze the reasons for his body language through the thinking of body and power, life experience, and unconsciousnessBody not only is a cultural problem, but also reflects a writer's political views. It can not be seen as a pure or simple problem to discuss. We can date from the roots of s(?)iety, history, etc. Body must be closely connected with the experience of a person, the unconsciousness, and the background. Body can be divided into such parts as facial features, extremities. breasts and sex. I want to put many descriptions into the thesis to explain my views on "body language" in D. II. Lawrence's poetry. By interpreting the poetic works of Lawrence. I attempt to indicate that the production of body language is under the deep thinking of body. in the influence of the love to nature, the unconsciousness and his "blood intimacy theory".The thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter presents the introduction of Lawrence's poems and the criticisms in the literary world. The careful introductions about body language and the descriptions of sex in some important verses are what the second and the third chapters cover, including all his important collections: his early verse, Look! We Have Come through!, Birds, Beasts and Flowers, Pansies, Last Poems and Nettles. The poems will be analyzed with the parts of body, the descriptions of features, the descriptions of extremities and breasts, and the worship of breast and genitals. The fourth chapter which expounds the reasons that Lawrence is partial to body language is about the relationship between power and body. 1) Lawrence uses "literary sex and body" to struggle with the stale opinions. Body is Lawrence's weapon to resist the old society. 2) The influence of "blood intimacy theory": the theory about the relationship between man and woman; the importance of theory. 3) The last point lies in his life, life experience and the usage of unconsciousness. The poet's exploring the love for every beautiful thing without any mask, including sex and body, distinguishes him from his precedents. Lawrence is a daring defender of body in literature. The last chapter of the thesis brings about a conclusion. Lawrence is not a politician or reformer but an artist. It is from the angle of an artist that he tries to inspect and rescue the human world. So in the end the thesis points out that the bold body language and the imagination of true relationship at most only stands for a solitary cry in the old society. But it has already given the light on the way to the future although it was impossible to solve the social problems, nor could it get rid of the deep-rooted false opinions of sexuality. But it has already showed Lawrence's prediction and his braveness on the way to the real literature.
