This paper systematically studies the ancient Roman women in such aspects as religion, family and social life from the perspective of war. Meanwhile, using theory of Riane Eisler and post-modernist femineism, that the ancient Roman women were considered as subjects with independent consciousness, it attempts to describe the ancient Roman female's image in history and to re-evaluate, their position and role in history.I. The war culture had a profound influence on modes of thought of ancient Roman women. Their approval of war culture and participation in it were efficient ways for them to become more liberated than ancient women in other areas.Generally speaking, the Roman history of thousands years is a history full of wars. Roman was a man-dominated slavery society in which women ware fettered by patriarch. As family slaves and bearing instruments, woman had very low social status. However, during the expansionism war of Roman, the mode of thought of ancient Roman women was profoundly influenced by war concept and it furthm(?)re permeated through every aspect of social life.Firstly, the worship to goddess played a very important role in religions life of Roman people and the goddess culture reflected that women were given certain respect in Roman society. But these goddess, appearing unexceptedly with other gods, stood for high yield and abundance, which symbolized the expect of Roman society towoman------bearing more children. Meanwhile, in the course of Roman expansionismwar, war culture had deep effect on the mode of thought of Roman women, which was represented in religious life——many woman took part in religious activities and rites out of reasons of war and bearing, and many goddesses were regarded as war gods.Secondly, the ancient Roman is a nation advocating military fore beceuse war brought it treasure and glory. And war pushed men at the peak of age, however, meanwhile it also made a lot of men live in the army year in year out or die in battles. Thus, the lack of men provided opportunities for women to take part in social activities. The ancient Roman women turned the original mode of thought at wartime into their own consiousness and actions. As producers of soldiers and the supporting force of social economy at wartime, they also took their participation in war as an efficient way to get their liberation. This is the very reason why ancient Roman women had higer socal status than the ancient women in other areas. The ancient Roman women won certain economic right through their assiduous work and fight, and they further promoted their position in both family and society. Although this didn't change the pattern controled by men, their active participation in family and social life impelled the awakening of feminine corsciousness, which was very unusual in ancient world.II. The ancient Roman nation influenced by war culture has many harmonious factors on sexual relations. The Roman Empire was built by men with swords, and thus it was an age during which"sword culture" was current. However, the "culture of saint cup" was not completely destroyed by men's swords, while it shone sacred brilliant rays. This could be proven by the fact that not only the gods and goddesses were equal with each other in religion field. but also women undertook all the responsibilities in social life. The Roman women, as a tender power, added many harmonious factors to Roman society. Moreover, the fact that Roman women had higher social status than women in other areas was surely the result of such cultural elements as social and religious elements, but is also was the reflection of the "culture of saint cup" in social life, and the relatively hamonious sexual relations were its internal factors. The harmonious elements in ancient Roman sexual relations are also meaningful and valuable to be learnt from. And the harmony on the basis of pursuing equality is the necessary trend in the devehpment of sexual relations. And the harmonious sexual relations is also the main content to build harmonious society. This paper is divided into six parts:In introduction part, I mainly introduce the research situation and Riane Eisler's sexual relations theory cited in this paper.Part 1: I introduce the history of Roman expansionism wars and the generation and development situation of the ancient Roman women's modes of thought.part 2: I discuss the influence that war had on the warship to goddesses in ancient Roman and women's religion activities, in order to illustrate that Roman goddess culture and women's religious activities are the extension of their productive role in sacred ceremonies, and the requirement of war to women's productive ability.Part 3: To examin the social role and satus of ancient Roman women during the war period, To illustrate that while war brought hurt to the ancient women, it brought themopportunities as well------The agreement and internalization of ancient women to warwere an effecient way for them towards emancipation.Part 4: To illustrate the influence of war culture to ancient Roman women' s family life. Family was the main active space of ancient women, the increasment of their status presented firstly in the change of marriage form and the status as life and mother, which brought more and more happiness and harmony in ancient Roman family life.Part 5: Widely commented the harmonious factors between the relationship two sexes in ancient Roman. Conclusion: The agreement of ancient Roman women to the war culture was a harmony factor for them to imerse into Roman society, while enforcing the social advance together with men, they also enforced the harmonious development between two sexes.
