The Case Study Of Group Shi About Daoqing Piying

County Huan, located in the junction among the province of Shanxi, Gansu, and Ningxia, is one of the birthplaces and developing ground of Daoqing Piying art. Due to the special geological and humane situations here , lots of excellent traditional culture are preserved , Daoqing of east Gansu is one of the traditional cultural arts. This paper presents a general definition to Daoqing and provides a detailed description about its stage performance, the layout of the traditional artistic objects, the style of the role playing, and the attendance of the audience.The field work researching method is employed in the investigation of the 47 groups of Daoqing performers with the Group Shi as the case study. In this paper, a detailed and thorough research has been conducted concerning the development history, the membership, the self-made musical instruments, the management of Piying, and the inheriting system of Group Shi. Meanwhile, from the perspective of musical and anthropology, a corresponding study has been done to study the different groups and Daoqing in east Gansu and the local ritual activities in existence. The local ritual activities in county Huan are of great variety. This paper presents a mutual relation between the traditional Daoqing Piying and the local culture from the study of Group Shi based on their traditional taboo, buzzword, and special performance on special occasion.Based on the development and change of Daoqing Piying in east Gansu, we put forward an urgent request to protect this special traditional art due to various reasons such as cultural lag, economic pressure, and the limited audience. A few practical and effective measues have been put forward to preserve and protect this art.The paper involves a variety of different studies including music , cultural anthropology, and sociology. An objective explanation about Daoqing in east Gansu is offered with an analysis about its existence and development. We hold a reflection about its developing dilemma and put forward our opinion and suggestion. In a word, a new perspective has been put forward concerning the study of Daoqing Piying in east Gansu.
