False memory is a new focus of memory study that has attracted many researchers' attention in recent years. It is valuable in application realm. And it enlarged the memory research. The false momory research investigated the internally generated false memories and the characteristics and the underlying mechanism of false memory effect. DRM laboratory paradigm that can robust false memory. In this thesis, a brief history of false memory produce research and its present study are reviewed first. Then two experiments are carried out to examine the effects of encoding condition on correct and false recognition in the DRM paradigm. In both experiments robust false memory are observed. In experiment 1,the processing deph, dely of testing and types of item are manipulated, and it is discovered that effect of processing deph is obvious on true memory and is not obvious on false memory. The effect of dely of testing is obvious on false momory and is not obvious on correct momory. In experiment 2, the instruction, the study times and types of item are manipulated, and the result is the effect of instruction is obvious on both memory. The effect of study times is obvious to both momory, it is observed as when the study times increased, the correct memory increased and the false memory decreased. All the results are discussed in detail on the basis of the experimental condition and the different theoretical points of false memory phenomena.as far as the different theories are concerned, the fuzzy trace theory seems can give the best explanation to the results in present study.
