In China's modern literature world, Shi Tuo is a writer with a characteristic style. When exploring Shi Tuo's works in the 1930s and 1940s,we find that temporally speaking he had undergone a transformation"from Lu Fen to Shi Tuo", going to the path from creating the atmosphere to describing typical literary images. Meanwhile, the writer had experienced space transfer twice. In this process, he obtained township memory and urban experience which became the origin of his writing. In the first half, the thesis regards Shi Tuo's career as clues to analyze his writing with the consideration of space and time.Shi Tuo's own consciousness of the space and time manifested in through the literature creation, he began a dialogue with the times and history to think about the situation of survival of the entire nation. Facing with"changes"and"being invariable"of the time, the people in Shi Tuo's novels had chosen"lives to the time"; After experiencing dual loses of"the hometown"(villages and towns) and"the foreign land"(city), suffering roughly"on the road", Shi Tuo watched the daily life of the hometown by rational and philosophy altitude once more, he discovered the rich symbolic literature chronoscope——small cities and towns. In the other half, the thesis studies Shi Tuo's novel from three aspects of the time, the space, the space and time, in order to explore the value of the space and time writing.
