Small ethnic group is a modern concept, refers to the ethnic groups, or have not yet been identified, yet to be identified said the minority populations. These small groups have independent language and culture tend to be the vulnerable groups. The traditional festivals of these ethnic minorities are important component of the culture, have become the major content of the tourism industry. Because of the high-speed economic impact, it produces effect on small ethnic traditional culture by tourism tide.This paper expounds the current international and domestic research and definition for protection of traditional festivals of ethnic minorities, introduced our country small ethnic traditional festivals protection status and significance. And through the analysis of the Err- Su Tibetans "HuanShanji Festival" case to put forward thinking of the protection of China's traditional festival of small ethnic groups. This paper focus on small ethnic groups,like the Err-Su Tibetan, that has a long history but the lack of documents, and its traditional festivals in protected mode only by recording their history legend. Through the introduction of the historical and cultural tradition of Err-Su Tibetan's problem and changing, analysis of the reason of �HuanShanji Festival" to be developed before and after the process.Try to find a solution, and provide feasibility reference for tourism development in ethnic minority areas and other traditional festivals protection.
