Comparative Study On Fuyi And Bangu

Fu Yi and Ban Gu are outstanding literati & scholars & officials in Han dynasty, who wrote great fu, poems, odes, etc.'Wu Fu'of Fu Yi,'Liangdu Fu','HanShu'of Ban Gu, are all admirable works. In the Dynasties of Wei, Jin, North & South,'Dianlun Lunwen', wrote by Cao Pi, begins with the sentence of'Fu Yi and Ban Gu are almost on a par', and Liu Xie also wrote that'As for Fu Yi and Ban Gu, their literary talents are equally matched.'in'Wenxindiaolong'. At that period, Fu Yi and Ban Gu got the same reputation of being a talented writer. However, Ban Gu has been praised more and more and Fu Yi was ignored afterwards. It is rare that two literati got so markedly different appraisals in different periods. Having made a review of research beforetime, it's found that no one ever made a comparison between Fu Yi and Ban Gu. Therefore, the comparison is a brand-new literaty subject.Based on the works of Fu Yi and Ban Gu, the arcticle makes an analysis and summary from the aspects of Fu, poems, odes and'HanShu', using the methods of comparing and induction. The aim is to make a comparatively objective appraisal for Fu Yi and Ban Gu and to help making a thorough research to the subject.There are 6 parts in the article, including foreword, 4 main parts and conclusion. The foreword is a sum-up for Fu Yi and Ban Gu's life, ideology and works, which is a base for the comparing text. In addition, the part studies on the author of'Wufu'and proves that Fu Yi is the author; Besides, the poem of'Guzhu'is also written by FuYi.The main parts includes 4 chapters:The first chapter: Comparison between Fu Yi and Ban Gu's Fu. There are 2 parts of comparison, which are Capital Fu and Xiaofu. Based on Fu Yi's'Luodu Fu'and Ban Gu's'Lliangdu Fu', Capital Fu's comparison will be done from the the aspects of organization, content, diction, historical value. Based on Fu Yi's'Wufu'and Ban Gu's'Zhushanfu', Xiaofu's comparison will be done from the aspects of diciton, ideology and historical value.The second chaper: Comparison between Fu Yi and Ban Gu's poems & odes. Poems'comparison will be done between Fu Yi's'Dizhi Poem'and Ban Gu's'Yongshi Poem'; Odes'comparison will be done between two'Doujiangjun Beizheng Ode',of which the titles are the same.The third chapter: BanGu's'HanShu'.'HanShu'is BanGu's greatese achievement, so the chapter is specially arranged for an introduction to it. The fourth chapter: Comparison between FuYi and BanGu's family. This part is inspired by CaoPi and LiuXie's saying of'FuYi and BanGu are almost on a par'. Firstly, there's an analysis on CaoPi and LiuXie's living periods & critical stand; Secondly, there's a study on FuYi and BanGu's family.In the conclusion part, my point of view is that FuYi is not so good as BanGu.
