The First World War was a big event in a world modern history,it did not only change the international political andeconomical situation, but also impressed and enlightenedpeople profoundly in politics, economy, culture, military. Asa belligerent and semi-colonial country, China was influenceddeeply and Chinese nation's concept, the modern nationalconsciousness sharpened when they contacted and resisted theforeigners. Under the influence of Lenin's theory "the nationalself-determination", the Chinese national self-determinationideological trend in postwar increased and changed into theanti-imperialism and anti-feudalism nationalist movement. Theradicalism, the liberalism, cultural conservatism and so oncarried out the different theory exploration and the practiceon how to constructed a modern nation-state. Postwar Chinanationalist surge was a milestone in Chinese nationalismmodernization process, in other words, postwar nationalistsurge was an important stage in the process that Chinesepeople tried to found an independent, prosperous and powerfulmodern nation-state the. As soon as researching the war's profound influence to China, the article also analyzed postwarChina nationalism performance and the characteristics andinteraction between the nationalism and the radicalism, theliberalism, the cultural conservatism. The text is composedmainly of three parts:The first part is introduction, which introduces thethesis's significance, the present situation, technique ofresearch and the research's innovation.The second part is the body consisted of four chapters. Thefirst chapter introduces the background for the Chinanationalism, the worldwide nationalist movement and it'sinfluence. The second chapter gives the nationalistperformance which contains the national self-determinationideological trend, including May 4th Movement in 1919, theanti-Japanese- goods, the domestic products advocation,movements reclamation custom autonomy and so On. In the culture,the reclamation education sovereignty movement, thenon-Christianity movement and so on which strengthenedpeople's national sympathy. Third chapter elaborates theinteraction between nationalism and radicalism liberalism andcultural conservatism. Fourth chapter elaborates a postwar Chinanationalism new characteristics, including the interaction between cosmopolitanism and nationalism, overall anti-imperialism andanti-feudalism as well as nationalism modernity development.The third part is a conclusion expressing the author'sopinions and comments on present China's some nationalistbehaviors.
