Hong Kong was accessioned to England according to theNanking Treaty, after occurring of the Opium war in 1840. Afterthat, the government of UK found any excuses to annexcolonizing territory such as kowloon and new Territories. Thenthe government of UK began colonize rule in Hong Kong. Forabout twenty years, the economic of Hong Kong developedquickly. It contrasted outback governed by later qing dynasty.facing the embarrassed phenomenon, how did the Chineseantecedent respond? This text will take Wangtao for example inthe following four parts to discuss it:The first chapter, neoteric antecedent were full offeelings about the accession history of Hong Kong. But underthe influence of "chinese is exalted while others islowliness " and patriotism sentiment, they paid much attentionto the colonizing status of Hongkong, while thinkingsuperlicially. Wangtao mistook Hong Kong because of his statusof brinkman, hater his opinion of Hongkong changed as hisself-personality successfully transferred.The second chapter, through study of《introduction ofHongkong》and《man you sui lu》, we can understand wangtao 's opinion to Hong Kong further. In this text, wangtao had alot of recordation about politics, economic and culture of HongKong. It seemed that wangtao' s opinion to Hongkong went througha process from cognition to anew cognition.The third chapter, the right cognition have a active effevton practice.the maturation of his opinion made his practicingabundance day from day. Later wangtao translated sutra, wrotenew books which had an important on communication of east andwest culture. Creating《the circulation Daily》,propagandizingideology of political reform to constantly strive to becomestronger, also had far-reaching effect on the idea ofbackland.The fourth chapter, Hong kong was a result of challenge from"the advanced west" and "the aggressive east" So we mightsay on the history of neoteric china, Hongkong made a role ofwindow. It was a window of studying the advanced science andtechnology, a window of understanding the inbeing of "theaggressive west". Wangtao settled at Hongkong, Then hisopinion of Hongkong and his practice just seemed a result ofhis dual-responses to the west dual-challenge.
