On The Different Ideas Of Yan Yuan And Li Gong

In early Qing Dynasty, Yan Yuan and Li Gong founded YanLi School. As their common founder, was opposed to Neo-Confucianism in favor of pragmatic thinking. They had a lot of ideologically consistent. But because of their different life experiences, there were many ideological differences. Although some of the previous scholars studied the differences of Yan Yuan and Yi Gong. However, these studies are comprehensive and systemic. This article in predecessors' foundation, comprehensively has discussed on the different thought of Yan Yuan and Li Gong. In this paper, the ideological differences between them, mainly in Philosophy and Education and Policy are thinking three. Based on the three specific comparative analysis aims to : In Epistemology, Yan Yuan uphold materialism routes, and Li Gong was caught in the idealism. In Education, the different understanding actually reflected a different outlook on education. Yan Yuan's ideas embodied the concept of the modern education. Li Gong was the idea of the traditional education. In policy, Yan Yuan actually advocated the use of the ancient regime to change the society. And Li Gong with the reality of society, made more specific and constructive proposals. These program was the inspiration to recent political reforms.
