Gong' an School and the three brothers of the Yuan's of Gong' an county, are the highlights in the History of Chinese Literary Criticism. But in the academic research of the Ming Dynasty's Literary Criticism, that highlights are not the modern academic research's highlights. After almost seventy years of the development in the Gong' an school's modern academic research, there are still some shortcomings. For example, the modern academic research's start is late, the researchers are fewer, the field of research is narrow and the research methods are single.The research idea of the three brothers' Theory of Literary is usually like this: Yuan Zongdao as a pioneer, his view of language is the most important theory, so the researchers only analyze it roughly in order to introduce his brother Yuan Hongdao fully. When the introduction finished, the researchers always use Yuan Zhongdao's some theories which are related to Yuan Hongdao's to be a supplement for his brother. So the academic is short of the concept of the equal for the three brothers. The previous studies usually use Yuan Hongdao's Theory to replace the three brothers' integrated theory. In my opinion, although Yuan Zongdao, Yuan Hongdao and Yuan Zhongdao have a same mother, they are different persons with different characters and the different Theory of Literary. to some extent, the previous study is easy to weaken the study about Yuan Zongdao and Yuan Zhongdao's theories. So in my pinion, to study the three brothers' theory with the order of the development of their integrated theory is essential to the modern academic research.At the same time, it is gratifying to see that the researchers are starting to pay attention to the other theorists except Yuan Hongdao, and achieve some achievements in the last decade. So, in the basis of these results, it is necessary ande possible to study the thread of the three brother's thoughts again. Now is a good time to expand the research's angles.Simultaneously the documents and materials about Yuan Zongdao and Yuan Zhongdao are enriched by these expansive researches. These are the basis of the new research and the comparative study. Because Yuan Hongdao's theory is the focus on the previous study, this study's idea is easy to neglect the cautious comparative study Wu Diaogong's is the first paper to Differentiate and analyze the three brothers' theories, but there are fewer papers on this study after his paper. In my paper, in the basis of the description of their integrated theory, I want to use the "Distinguish their ~ differences and analyze these differences' reasons" to be the research principle, and in order to reveal some various relations under their integrated theory.So my research's idea is: the paper will describe the conformation and development of their integrated theory and at the same time the paper will always do some comparative study.Moreover, the paper's research method is: the study is from Yuan Zongdao to Yuan Hongdao and Yuan Zhongdao combined with their briefly character analysis and biographies by a Vertical angle on the development of the Xingling theory. Through every brother's effort, Xingling Theory has a more complete elaboration and a more consistent expression in the law of literary development. Through this study, I want to show the "true" and "rebellion" that are the core of the Xingling Theory.In the study, I always persist in the "understanding" attitude, especially to the denunciation. In my judgment, the Gong' an School's appearance is a historical necessity, so its limitations are also the times' limitations. In spite of Xingling Theory has some shortcomings, it still has its necessity under the Late Ming Dynasty.
