The question of human's liberty and comprehensive development is not only theoretical but also realistic. Through the clarification of the development of the theory on human's liberty and comprehensive development, this thesis tries to throw light on the deep connotation of the theory and to explore the basic thinking of how to promote its development in the new historical period. Introduction briefly presents the research significance of this project and discusses the definition and the scientific connotation of people's free and comprehensive development. Chapter One makes a necessary review of Chinese Marxists'devotion to the development of this theory through the historical perspective, with the aim to clarify and grasp the growth of the theory. The basic conditions for human's liberty and comprehensive development are explored in Chapter Two. Chapter Three discusses the basic thinking of how to achieve human's liberty and comprehensive development in the new historical period.
