The research about Bilingual education (Bilingual teaching) has a long history throughout the world and some nations have carried out Bilingual education according to the states of their own in different degrees. With the arrival of the 21th century, the new century requsts the talented person, who have internationalized language, knowledge and culture...etc, and they must face the globalization, internationalization and information-based standards. To face the chanllenges of the times and aim at our low efficiency of foreign language teaching for a long time, some educators started the experiment of bilingual teaching, that is non-language subjects are taught in English in order to improve the students'ability of using English. Therefore, the researcher set up the study on this subject. In the thesis the researcher used interview method, observation method, questionnnaire investigation method and statistical analysis method to collect information and data and got the research results. The bilingual teaching method has positive effect on learners'interest of English learning and on learners'comprehensive capacity of English.The thesis consists of five sections. Section One is an introduction briefing the importance of bilingual teaching method in modern times and brings out the research question; Section Two is the theory section. The researcher analyzes the relationships between bilingual education and bilingual teaching and the foreign language teaching; Section Three is the literature review which reviews the literture of bilingual education home and abroad from past to present and the theories of second language learning; In Section Four researcher points out the effects of bilingual teaching on students' learning interest and on students'foreign language capacity through the investigation and the experiment in the Jiefang Primary School and Taoyuan Primary School in Dalian. The researcher sums up the conclusions of the main research questions in this thesis and puts forward further research questions in Section Five.The research is quite meaningful to search for and discover the rules of bilingual teaching and to form a bilingual teaching model and subject system with the characteristics of China and it is also meaningful to improve our basic education with high quality and high level.
