Study On The Fish Pattern Of The Living Ceramic Decoration In China

The invention of ceramics is the epitome of human civilization evolution, which are focused on the creative activities in human’s life. The ceramics related to our lives closely play an important role in the history of ceramics in China.Decorative patterns on the ceramics play an important part in Chinese ceramic history.Different shapes constitute the basic forms of ceramics, while different decorative patterns create the splendid visual feast. Similarly, decorative patterns of ceramics used in daily life evolve from simple to complex. With the development of human civilization and social progress, it is realized that the soul of creating ceramics used in daily life is the conceptions and the connotations represented by decorative patterns on them in our country. As one of the symbolic patterns of ceramics used in daily life, the fish-pattern is widely used for its appealing design, delicate pattern and unique charm in six thousand years of history in our country. In three years of graduate study, the author became interested in fish-pattern on ceramics used in daily life of our country in which he put a series of studies. The author hopes to make some positive contributions for creating ceramics with distinctive national style of the times.The writer will simply analyze and further discuss the research subjects from the aspects of origin, development, evolution and continuation of fish patterns in general; know about the symbolic significance and function that fish patterns bring to the society, and get the spiritual wealth of it in ceramic decoration.Combined with pictures and words(such as literature and documents), citing, analysis and conclusion will be used to show the arts of fish patterns in household ceramics in China(from the aspects of construction, shape, ways to express,combination of decoration and shape). According to the comprehension of traditional cultural and the attitude to it, comprehensive thinking will be stated. Only from the dialectical view of development can we create the ceramics works combined with tradition and modern times.
