Studies On Pronunciation And Vocabulary Of Tongling Dialect

Tongling city is located in the south of Anhui Province, It lies on the south coast of Yangzi river. And it is also one of the earlist place set for the Extractive Metallurgy of Copper.With a history of hundreds of years, it has enjoyed a high reputation for its pleasant climate, developed economy, numerous talents and advantageous geographical position.Apart from its boundary storage of copper, Another distinct thing of Tongling is its dialect. But it even never attracted people's attention and no one has made a systematic analysis on it. Aiming at filling in the gap in this field and providing materials for further research on the dialects of Anhui province, the author of this thesis tries to reveal the features of thesis dialect based on a description and analysis of its pronunciation and vocabulary.The thesis consists of three chapters adding up to a foreword and a conclusion.The foreword is a brief introduction on the reasons, significance and preparation for the writing.In chapter 1, the author briefly describes various aspects of Tongling city with a focus on the distribution of the city'dialect and the basic steps about the research related to it.Chapter 2 is about the phonetic features of Tongling dialect.The author not only describes and analyzes its initial consonants, rhymes, tones and their relations but also explains pronunciation differences between written Chinese and local dialect. Moreover, the author respectively compares Tongling phonetic system with that of mandarin—the standard Chinese and that of Guangyun—treatise on Chinese mid-ancient pronunciation, and then respectively gives a synchronic and diachronic analysis on the comparisons.Chapter 3 is on the vocabulary features. The author gives a detailed synchronic analysis on it and an initial probe into kinship appellation. The last part concludes the thesis, discusses basic reasons for internal differences of local dialects and forecasts its developing trend.Dialect is a self-sustaining opening system, though the thesis may limit about Tongling dialect all respects, generally , sketching the pictures of dialect, this have some references on dialectology'study and local constructions of culture.
