Hong Ying and her works is a phenomenon that makes people confused in Chinese literary circles. She has quite a lot of influences in overseas countries as well as in Taiwan, but in Mainland of China very few critics focus on her writings and give the right position to her. This thesis will discuss the subject of Hong Ying's novels by close reading and try to perceive the communication between females and the whole world including history, reality, culture and so on.This thesis consists of four parts. Part I mainly analyses the strong feminine consciousness through the unique female viewpoint of the writer. Part II discusses the attention that Hong Ting, as a girl coming from poor family, pays to the social reality and humanity condition. Part III discusses the conception of history of the writer and its result in the novels—that is, true but humanistic historic contemplation. Part IV begins with Hong Ying's identity as an overseas Chinese authoress to discover her thinking of East and West culture.
