Known as a critical realistic writer, many of Anton Chekhov's novels and plays are warmly received and greatly impressed by the readers and critics. However, as a writer, Chekhov didn't compose systematic theories and monographs. Most of his valuable composing thoughts, such as the literature social function, art trueness, succinct language, objective attitude included, are reflected in his writing letters and reading notes. Research on Chekhovian composing thoughts is also the weak field in Chekhov studies.Chekhovian composing thoughts are obviously inclined to objectivity. His words like"objective as a chemist","blaming nobody and opposing nobody neither","to be cool"embody Chekhovian neutral attitude to all values, impartial attitude to all personages and indifferent attitude to the personages and the events. The three aspects mentioned above embodied in Chekhovian works include the objective creating principle, the objective and succinct narrating pattern, the rich but objective personage molding way and so on. While, it doesn't mean that Chekhovian objectivity thought is totally indifferent and has no relations to him, Chekhovian voices still exist in his letters and notes. In his works, they are embodied in these aspects below: the author's image implicated in the novels, the satire art and other artistic techniques. These seem to departure from the neutral principle, to betray the impartial principle and to shake the indifferent principle which Chekhov advocates, but actually they are the vaster significances contained by his objectivity thought. Many factors contribute to Chekhovian objectivity thought. Influenced by the Russian traditional literature, foreign progressive literature and his personal experiences, his objectivity thought gradually forms up and becomes his governing composing principle, and has far-reaching on the future literature.
