Objective: It was to explore whether Group Reality Therapy would result in change of locus of control in patient with Anxiety Disorder,by tracking effectiveness of Group Reality Therapy for alleviating anxiety in patient with Anxiety Disorder, providing guidance for clinical practice. Methods: 68 inpatients with Anxiety Disorder meeting experimental criteria were assigned to two group according to the score of Internality scale, each for 34cases.The experimental group received medication and Group Reality Therapy, while the control group received single medication therapy for 8 weeks. HAMA, IPCS were administered before and after 8 weeks in both groups. Results: 1.The change of locus of control in experimental group was significant, including higher Internality (p<.01).In the control group, the change of Internality was not significant.2.In both groups, there were negatively correlation between locus of control and Internality(p<.05). 3.The anxious scores in HAMA were decreased significant in both of groups(p<.01),the effectiveness of experimental group is better than control group(p<.01).Conclusions: 1.The efficacy of integral intervention for patients with Anxiety Disorder was higher than that of signal medication therapy.2.Group Reality Therapy can change the locus of control of patients with Anxiety Disorder, and enhance Internality in patients.3.Group Reality Therapy would be suited to Anxiety Disorder in clinical practice with the merit of understandable principle, shorter treatment course and better outcome.
