But its evaluation of art value has been very low. Now researching into the disaster movie has only been remaining in the level of criticism. While this thesis keeps away from the way of criticizing research, it takes the disaster movie as a culture and aesthetics phenomenon. The thesis includes four parts: The first chapter introduces the disaster movie from three aspects of definition,development and features. The disaster movie is a type movie which theme is the large-scale disaster caused by the nature. Its appreciative effect is the terrible,panic and miserable details and the disaster landscape. It performs directly the character consisting with the disaster. The second chapter analyses the cause that the disaster movie is enjoyed by many viewers from the life aesthetics angle. It makes viewers feast remarkable audio-visual spectacle; and ponder the human fate; and experience gratified rescues; and arouse the saving consciousness. In a word, the disaster movie meets the needs of the viewers'life. The third chapter researches the aesthetics value of the disaster movie: It transmits disaster consciousness to the viewers and lets viewers realize the death through the disaster and wake up the life from insensible state through the death threaten. It lets viewers cross-examine the life significance and rethink the survival circumstances. The fourth chapter discusses the question that the disaster movie produces sense of beauty. It is not simple pleasant but a series of reaction. Firstly, the viewers have the intense visual impulse and the tense pressure. Then, the viewers can obtain relaxed feeling after tenseness and safe after terrifying. The last, the viewers bring lofty and tragic feeling. In fact, the thesis analyses the disaster movie from the mankind life. It pays attention to the harmonious development between mankind with the nature and society.
