| Of the domestic researches, few attribute psychological problems of college students to cognitive dissonance, while this paper aims to probe into the relationship between cognitive dissonance and undergraduate mental health. An investigation is done on the attribution manner and mental health of 950 college students respectively through a self-made attribution manner questionnaire, combined with a cognitive dissonance research questionnaire and the SCL-90 psychological test questionnaire, and 875 questionnaires have been effectively reclaimed. A correlation research is conducted on the cognitive dissonance of the subjects and their psychological health, and then the latter, within the theoretical framework of cognitive dissonance, is comprehensively analyzed from the following aspects: the positive and negative attribution in attribution tendency, the causes of the undergraduate cognitive dissonance, the relationship between cognitive dissonance and attribution manner, and the relationship between cognitive dissonance and undergraduate psychological health as well.The result indicates that there exists a positive correlation between the undergraduate cognitive dissonance and their attribution manner, and there exists a negative correlation between the psychological health and cognitive dissonance. Besides,college students of different groups and regions vary in their attribution manner, the degree of cognitive dissonance and their psychological health. To sum up, the degree of cognitive dissonance of undergraduates coming from one-child families is higher than that of students from multi-children families, and the former is inferior to the latter as far as their psychological health is concerned. In addition, the degree of cognitive dissonance of female undergraduates is higher than that of male students,and their general level of psychological health is also lower than that of the latter. What's more, the degree of cognitive dissonance of students who are not class leaders is higher than that of class leaders, and their level of psychological health is lower than that of the latter as well. By doing this research, the author aims to provide a new reference for college students'psychological aid, that is,to rectify the undergraduate cognitive dissonance and strengthen their self-adjustment so as to promote the healthy development of their psychology. |
