The Bian-Canal linked Huang-he river to Huai-he river turned an important transport waterway with the development of agricuture in the southern of China during Tang dynasty.From then on, the economy began growing all-round in the valley of Bian-canal.Firstly, the traffic transport got more and more convenient and a enormous system about it had formed in that area.Secondly, some water conservancy projects were established by government, which pushed agriculture forward in the valley of Bian-canal.And thirdly, because Bian-canal had a good transport service, cities along the bank had rising abruptly and the commerce had becoming more and more successful and promoted handicraft's prosperity.The belt of economy of Bian-canal was born because of that, which was not only playing a great role in social economy, but made the civilization progress during Tang dynasty. The Bian-canal effected the ecological environment of valley of it. The water-network of Bian-canal had some beneficial results to that area, such as channal water, irrigate around fields, transport, afforest and soil improvement and so on.Pressure of Bian-canal and Huang-he river was alleviated because the Bian-canal was dredged by Tang government, which ensured shipping, reduced flood and protected the ecological environment in northern.However, the water conservancy system along the bank was destroyed because the riverbed was silted up by mud-sand and the government delayed administering.In addition, building cities lead to the forest resources was depleted.
