The South Canal Valley water environment had changed in Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasty. On the one hand, the Government and people digged up the river by digging canals to improve water environment; on the other hand, complex terrain, rising groundwater, drainage, and lakes shrinked that all deteriorated the water environment. War, harassment and natural disasters, the local became into marginal from the core area in the early Yuan Dynasty. In all, the water environment had impacted the area at the sides both natural and human.Looking at the impact from natural, under the influence of water environment, there were sand alkaline earth came out in the local, and expanded too, and the Cangzhou's saline expanded rapidly that many people involved in governance; the agricultural environment got worse, and the crops was not made full use of which was suitable for alkaline sand, and the inequality of water facilities distribution lead to the increase of flood basin, finally, the farm was naught. Therefore, according to local conditions, the local officials and the public developed agriculture and animal husbandry, and processed raw agricultural and pastoral products, which formed a local specialty, enriched the exchange of materials, consolidated the agriculture.Looking at the impact from humanity, the distribution of the local minority and population changed, and the social, cultural features changed, too. The development of economic and the operations of government, attracted a large number of ethnic minorities and immigrants, weakened the capacity of the environment; besides, faced with the disputes which was related to community, the government lacked response measures; the morals changed from led by the Chongwen to warrior-oriented, and changed the opera style, rise the Pop Culture, disseminated the Islamic fashion. In short, the impact of water environment as an important factor to the region in the two sides both natural and human's environment, which was complementary with the socio-economic development and changement of the South Canal basin.
