The true art must keep pace with date. Otherwise it may lose its vitality. So does the traditional Chinese realistic flower-bird painting. No matter what the picture size and the composition are, the painters should take it seriously ----- applying new conception and colors to drawing in order to make it have the modernity.Apart from modernity the new traditional Chinese realistic flower-bird painting requires high tastes and should suit both refined and popular tastes in order to be accepted and loved by more people. So the painters are supposed to practice more and learn more experience from both China and other countries so as to improve their own techniques, just as the proverb goes"to make the past serve the present, and the foreign serve the Chinese."The present paper first elaborates the traditional Chinese realistic flower-bird paintings in embryo, and its general development in history. Then it expounds in detail the contemporary language situation of the traditional Chinese realistic flower-bird paintings including: the theme of contemporary Chinese realistic flower-bird paintings, artistic conception, structural style, colors, new techniques, painting tools and materials and esthetic orientation, which make up the main content of this subject study.The innovative method in this paper is to study and analyze the modeling, color, artistic conception and esthetic orientation of the traditional Chinese realistic flower-bird painting, which contributes certain exploration to the language situation of the traditional Chinese realistic flower-bird paintings. By analyzing some of the traditional Chinese realistic flower-bird painting painters'works, the author has combined perfectly the theory and its practical use so that it can help bring some unprecedented innovations or new paths into the traditional Chinese realistic flower-bird painting circles.One point that has to be mentioned here is that contemporary Chinese realistic flower-bird painting is not a separate part of the traditional Chinese realistic flower-bird painting, but rather succession, development and innovation of it. The author's elaboration on the contemporary Chinese realistic flower-bird paintings is completely based on the traditional theories, therefore, it has been established on solid theoretical foundation rather than sinking sand.
