The Jinjiang River has gestated the urban culture of Chengdu. It is also thetestimony of the urban civilization of this city. From the Qin and Han dynasty, withthe development of this city, the relationship between this city, the river and the lifeof people became tighter and tighter. Many human landscapes appeared along theJinjiang River. These landscapes presented in the form of dots initially. But after theTang and Song dynasty, these dots became linked gradually. From then on, thecorridor of human landscapes of Chengdu came into being along the Jinjiang River.From the Qin and Han dynasty, the development course of the human landscapes along the River can be divided into four phases. It is the period of appearance from the Qin and Han dynasty to the South and North dynasty. It is the period of bloom in the Tang and Song dynasty. It declined roundly in the Yuan and Ming dynasty. The human landscapes revived gradually from the Qing dynasty. The historic aspects that affected the change of the human landscapes along the River are various. The development of Chengdu is the most important aspect. Chaos caused by war is the second factor.The more outstanding forms of the human landscapes along the River are architecture and folk-custom landscapes. The gardens landscapes are characteristic. Most folk-custom landscapes in Chengdu can be connected with the Jinjiang River.From the viewpoint of geography of historic landscapes, this thesis tries to study the change of the human landscapes along the Jinjiang River in Chengdu from the Qin and Han dynasty. It also presents a primary discussion of the cause. On the one hand, this thesis tries to reflect the life of the ancient citizens in Chengdu; On the other hand, it strives not only to reveal the relationship between the change of the human landscapes along the Jinjiang River and the Jinjiang River, but also to do good to relationship between traditional culture and the development of the city.
