The Research On Poetry Of Lin Bu

Lin Bu was an important reclusive poet in the initial stages of the North Song Dynasty. His peotry anthology of four volume was handed down for generations. Lin Bu's character and works were well received and admired by people. He was a poet with exclusive tempermament and plain bosom. His poetry with an unique style was different from Genre of Late Tang. Whereas traits and status of Lin Bu's poetry in the history of poetry, taking social and cultural background at that time into consideration, This paper will make a systemic study on the thought content and artistic characteristics of works, combining life experience and individual character of the poet himself.The thesis was divided into four parts. The first part introduced the life experience and thinking of Lin Bu. Confucian moral perfection and inactive life attitude of Taoism and Buddhism was the outside and the inside in Lin Bu's thought, and thus he put up transcendental moral integrity and exquisite character. The second part made a classification study on the poetry. Making a comprehensive view of poetry anthology, I thought that Lin Bu's poems can be divided into four categories: reclusive poems intoning leisurely, idyllic landscape poems, exquisite object-chanting poems, presenting and seeing off poems revealing the true feeling. The third part discussed poetry characteristic of Lin Bu. Lin Bu's poetry embodied the inditing thinking of leisured and comfortable temper. His poems paid more attention and gave more representation to himself. Lin Bu's poems were rich of high artistry,not only integral and natural, but also engaging and sapid. There was no lack of ingenious onceivation, skilful lyric pair, flexible use of allusions and rational interest sentence in flavourous and simple poem style. The fourth part regarded influence as research object. Lin Bu and his poetry had a profound impact in our history especially in Song Dynasty. His pursuit of poems played a role that inherited the past Tang Poetry and ushered Song Poetry in the future between the transition process. Lin Bu's plum poems had a epoch-making significance in the aesthetic history of the plum blossom. The fixed elegant and chaste images of plum blossom in literary creations field also derived from contributions of Lin Bu.
