The Study Of The Format Of Quantity In Language Of "Zai X Ye Y"

The “zai X ye Y” format is a common form of modern Chinese,which is made up of “zai” and “ye”,in which “X” stands for substantive or predicate after “zai”,and “Y” stands for substantive or predicate after “ye”.Starting with semantics and combining with the characteristics of form,this paper analyzes this problem that the type of the quantity,the calculation of the quantity and the influence factor of the quantity.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly introduces the research object,the research content,the research significance,the research status,the research methods and the source of corpus.The second chapter begins with the meaning of “zai” and divides the “zai X ye Y” format into three types: the “zai(1)X ye Y” format,the “zai(2)X ye Y” format and the “zai(3)X ye Y” format,“zai(1)” is repetition meaning,and “zai(2)” is continuous meaning,“zai(3)” is degree meaning.And according to the meaning of “zai”,differences in quantifiers,differences in parts of speech and so on,the “zai(1)X ye Y” format is divided into archetypal repetition,vacancy repetition and additional repetition.the “zai(2)X ye Y” format is divided into “zai(2)+ verbs ye Y” and “ zai(2)+verbs+quantifiers ye Y”.the “zai(3)X ye Y” format is divided into the “zai(3)+V/VP ye Y” and the “zai(3)+A/AP ye Y”.The third chapter,we study from different angles of quantity categories in language: whether to use quantifiers to express quantity or not is divided into visible and invisible quantity,the other has objective quantity and subjective quantity based on Whether the subjective evaluation with speaker or not,describing whether the object is things or events is divided into thing quantity and event quantity.We examine the quantity types of these three formats,and list the differences between the quantity types of each format.The fourth chapter,according to the calculation angle of the quantity,This paper analyzes whether “zai” is involved in the calculation of the quantity,if “zai” does not participate in the calculation of the quantity,who is to calculate and how to calculate it,If “zai” participates in the calculation of the quantity,what role does “zai” play.And the paper analyzes whether the type of the quantity is things or events in each format,whether the dimension of quantity is artificial dimension,dimension of number or the dimension of degree,who bears the value of the quantity,whether the value is maximum or minimum,whether it is the individual value,the unit value or the order value.We made a list to show the difference of the calculation of the quantity for each type of format,and discussed the specific calculation method of the invisible quantity.In fifth chapter,it is analyzed that the influence factors of the type of the quantity and the calculation of the quantity for these three types.The influence factors of the type of the quantity the “zai(1)X ye Y” format: the meaning of “zai”,stress,context and contrastive infection.The influence factors of the type of the quantity the “zai(2)X ye Y” format: the meaning of “zai”,context and quantifiers.The influence factors of the type of the quantity the “zai(3)X ye Y” format: the meaning of “zai”,quantifiers and format mark.The influence factors of the calculation of the quantity the “zai X ye Y” format are “zai”,verbs,adjectives and quantifiers,in which the participation and role of “zai” is different for each specific format.And “zai” affects the individual value and the order value.Verbs affect the type of the quantity,the dimension of quantity and the order value.Adjective and quantifier affect the type of the quantity,the dimension of quantity and the individual value.The final part is the conclusion.On the basis of predecessors' research,this paper makes a more extensive and in-depth study on the quantity of the “zai X ye Y” format.On the one hand,it is found that there is a close relationship between the form and the quantity by combining the form with the type of the quantity and the calculation of the quantity in this format.On the other hand,the problem of the calculation of the quantity is deeply explored,so that the calculation of the quantity can be expressed by quantization.It is hoped that the research in this paper can provide some references for the study of the quantity in other formats and the theory of quantity category.
