OuYang Xiu was born in Song Dynasty, the period after Tang Dynasty when was the most prosperous times of the poetry. It is not easy to say fortunate or unfortunate, for there are more difficulties for OuYang Xiu to inaugurated a new realm, created a new situation and expressed a new style under the shadow of the prosperity of Tang's poetry. As the leader of literature revolution in Song dynasty, it was not only for OuYang Xiu had succeed in achieving a tremendous movement of ancient prose, but also for he had made great achieve in his prose writing, the same as his contribution to the developing of the poetry in Song dynasty. There are more than 871 poems had been created by OuYang Xiu in total, 496 octaves and 375 classical-style poetries. The classical- style poetry which was been long ignored has been gradually became more and more active under the creation of OuYang Xiu.This was why classical- style poetry has reached 43 percent in all the poems of OuYang Xiu.There are distinct prosefied and controvert characteristic in OuYang Xiu'S poetry, all of this can be found in a regular routine. The language style of classical-poetry got both singularity and easy characteristic, and this had made great effort on the developing of the poetry in Song dynasty.
