Paper-cut Research Of Weihai, Shandong Province

Paper-cut is one of the most popular folk arts in China, it is an immaterial cultural heritage. But it is under great attack now with the developing of the society. This article analyzes Weihai paper-cut's history and its status quo on the basic of analyzing Shandong paper-cut, it points out the obstacles in the developing of Weihai paper-cut, and offers a series of measures to develop this folk art.The article aims at being useful in digging, protection, inheriting and development of the excellent paper-cut culture.The article consists of 5 parts, they are preface, chapter one: the history and development of paper-cut, chapter two: the general situation, evolving, research and protection of Shandong paper-cut, chapter three: Weihai paper-cut and conclusion as well.The author of this article collected a lot of fresh data of Weihai paper-cut through many ways such as investigation, having interviews with famous handicraftsmen in Weihai, consulting reference books, visiting Weihai city archives, Weihai city museum, Weihai paper-cut institute as well as surfing on the internet. The article is valuable for protection, exploitation, and development of paper-cut—the precious immaterial cultural heritage.
