Nowadays, Visual Arts which is an important part in the aesthetic education of high schools is not paid enough attention. I started at the difference between Art and Visual Art, looking for the value of Visual Art education, and trying to point out that during the course of educating in high schools, visual art education has good effect on improving the college students' comprehensive quality, the development of their social ability, their professional skills and creativity and their mental development.I collected the information of the contemporary condition of public art courses in Xiamen University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Wuhan University , China People' s University and Zhongshan University by means of doing survey. By the information and the data, I analyzed the problems that it showed and gave my advice. In my opinion, I think that we should attach more attention to the phenomenon that visual art courses are much less than musical art courses. It is time to enhance the support to the public visual art education. To make it, we should improve the system, stipulate credits, cultivate professional teachers, rationalize the setting of courses, enhance the research of the rule of public visual art education, make full use of the various visual art sources from schools and society and carry out
