A Research On Shen Congwen's Free Verse

Shen Congwen is one of the most important writers in the Chinese contemporary literature's history, the new verse is an important part of his works. The study on Shen Congwen's new verses was just begin now, so, there are a lot of question are waiting for answer.New verses written by Shen Congwen are different in the different period ,it can be roughly divided into two phases. In the whole of 1920s, Shen Congwen's verses covered more in language,form,and the subject, while after 1930s,his verses became lessen, and chiefly made up of pure lyric . This thesis is mainly discussed all of Shen Congwen's new verses in two ways, subject analysis and text anlysis. The thesis is made up of two chapters according to the characteristics of Shen Congwen's free verses discussed above. By making an overall investigation of his new verses, the first chapter illustrated his works by four kind of subjects; The second chapter illustrated the artistic resources of Shen Congwen's free verses. Finally, the epilogue further affirmed the value of the poet .
