Tunpu people had arisen because of the immigration policy for the south part of China in Ming density, with reservation of Jiangnan's characteristics in Ming density in the external cultural system, and the internal personality, character and cultural spirit; therefore, they have independent area and cultural mentality all the time, and the Tunpu society that is relatively independent field of production and living, also the material body of Tunpu culture. As the"Tunpu culture's lively museum", Jiuxi village had been the best in 300 Tunpu villages in the preservation of traditional culture, and the rich one of theses. For the modernization, the preservation of the traditional culture is difficult to understand. Since that, Jiuxi village is enough to be the best specimen of research about the subjects on the tradition and the modern. On the background of the change of tradition culture, we can not ignore the power of the mass communication. Facing to this, people will communicate with the mass communication with their own fashion. Because of different cultural and social background, we can see the multiplex practical picture. In this research, I will start from the"combat"of the mass communication and the traditional culture, regarding the Jiuxi village as the sample of the research on"television and Tunpu society"and the Tunpu people as the group with special culture, the men of action, the audience and the interpreting group possessing consistent live style, action and cultural spirit, and investigate the process of Tunpu people communicating with the television. In the communication, the relationship of television and villages is exhausted as the"developmental"something, and television is the mark and motivation of the modernization. Virtually, this is a communicating process, requiring explanation covering the communication, the anthropology and the sociology. This research is a tempt, on the foundation of three years'attention and two months'field work, trying to write an audience ethnography on the relationship of the Tunpu people and television on the side of the audience. This research's theory frame is"pratique theory"used by the France sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, explaining the communicating process of the Tunpu people and the external power and exerting the concept of"habitus"and"symbolic capital". As audience and the men of action, the Tunpu people's particles are showed in this research, that is how to communicate with the external power exerting own habitus( capital) placing in the dynamical field. This premise and the 1st chapter propose the issue investigated in this research, comb the related researches about the country study on communication, and explain the validity and typicalness of this research's approach. The 2nd and the 3rd chapters account for the total frame on the base of detailed introduction of investigated place. The 4th,the 5th and the 6th chapters analyze the varied adjusting action of Tunpu people from three degrees :"family, community and identity"associated with the audience's daily life. The 4th chapter involves to the core realm of watching television, which is the family and the political structure; The 5th chapter investigates the relationship of the television and the Tunpu people's communities ; The 6th chapter shows that how the Tunpu people maintain original cultural identities or building up new ones exerting television and information. The 7th chapter involves to the inevitable"custom issue"discussing the issues about village and group , analyzing the interaction between television and traditional culture. The conclusion sums up the analysis of this research further, exhausting the issues about"the cultural second production"and"the culture self-consciousness"concerning the traditional culture's existence in modern times. This research is a tempt covering the communication, the anthropology and the sociology, weighing showing and explaining the varied status in this nonce period, and the narrative effects of"thick description"this paper trying to attain is a tempt too.
