With the changing time, as well as a large number of catchwords, whose study receives more and more attention, and it is also a hot phenomenon of language. Many academics do researches about catchwords with multidimensional perspective, but they are also unable to agree to the concept of catchwords. Because no matter how they indicate it with words, research scholars believe that greatest feature of catchwords is the "popularity", which is distinctive characteristics of the times, the most sensitive reflection of language about social change.Catchword is a more special component of the modern Chinese lexical system. It is profoundly rich in linguistics value, social and cultural value and psychological value. Firstly it can reflect the development track, direction of the society, socio-cultural features and the individual, social and psychological research. Secondly catchword belongs to the language level, and its structure, the use and the dissemination is according to the structure of their own laws, manifesting their own system of Chinese characteristic and trends.The existence and popularity of catchwords is an objective fact, which is not only a cultural phenomenon, but also a linguistic phenomenon. Therefore, the popularity of catchwords should have two conditions: Firstly, the external conditions, social cultural and psychological factors; secondly, internal conditions, language system conditions.Language, as a necessary condition to the existence of society, a special kind of social phenomenon, the most important interpersonal tool, on the one hand, has the absolute dependence of society, on the other hand, follows the development of society. Nowadays catchwords'born is related with social life and more with the society's"covariation". Socio-cultural factors of catchwords are as following:1. Political life2. Economic life3. Usual life4. Culture life5. Media lifeThe formation of psychological basis of language users is subjected to the external social environment and the two are mutually exterior relations. After reform and opening up, Chinese economic structure has undergone tremendous changes, great changes in social life, improvement of the people's cultural quality, rich material life, accelerating the pace of life. Psychology of Catchwords also followed that and there have been some obvious changes.The main psychological characteristics: Communication meets the psychological needs, which is psychological basis of catchwords being popular. For specific performance: psychological of users, right role, group consciousness and psychological games.External conditions and internal conditions are not such as to the relationship between the parallel, but external conditions must work through the internal conditions. Include the following three aspects:1. Basis2. Principle3. Implementation means This paper analysis popular external conditions and internal conditions for the popularity of catchwords, we can find out, these factors are not parallel distribution, but rather complexly intertwined. Overall: following the precondition of external social needs and psychological cultural needs, language, based on the existing structure meet the need with internal changes. In other words, if socio-cultural, psychological interpersonal and other external conditions are ready under a loose language environment, besides, a new semantic content with a new fresh voice or structure as the forms, means that the internal conditions of catchwords are matured, it may have emerged and pop opened.Catchword is an important component of Chinese language system. With the process of social development, part of catchphrases fall into historical vocabulary; another part will gradually stay in Chinese language system and become more commonly used. Similarly, study of the conditions is one of the Chinese language dynamic systems. Therefore, the theory of conditions for the popularity of catchwords will help us to accurately grasp catchwords'born, development, and changes in a series of dynamic process, which in practice will guide and standardize the use of catchwords, and then predict its development trend.
