Present Situation Investigation Of Colleges' Mental Health Service System In Chongqing

Although numbers of definition and standard about mental health service were putted forward, there was no integrated colleges' mental health service system. Since society and government laid more emphasis on undergraduates' mental health education, it's important to clarify the content of colleges' mental health service and define the colleges' mental health service system, more over, to construct the model of the colleges' mental health service system and drew up questionnaire about present situation of the colleges' mental health service system based on theory study. It had realistic meaning to survey the present situation of the colleges' mental health service.Through open-ended questioners and experts interview, this study scientifically defined the colleges' mental health service system according to the definition of "the mental health service system" put forward by Huang Xiting. The first step set up a system including 5 dimensions including policy establishment, resource configuration, mental state promotion, management and scientific research. According to this model, questionnaire about present situation of the colleges' mental health service system was drew up, and chose 10 universities to investigate the present situation of the colleges' mental health service in Chongqing. The results of this study as follows:(1). The colleges' mental health service system was a multi-dimensional model. It included 5 primary dimensions and 10 secondary dimensions. The primary dimensions were the policy establishment, resources configuration, mental state promotion,the management and scientific research. The secondary dimensions were policy system of mental health service, occupation morals and ethics, hardware construction, software facilities, society support, education and propaganda, psychological consultation, prevention and crisis intervention, management and supervision, attendant group construction.(2). College mental health service system in Chongqing was almost set up. Policy formental health service was established, mental health service was given preference onresources; the function of mental promotion worked well, and scientific research wasdeveloped.(3) Work in different aspect was unbalance. Such as: policy establishment was slow than serve given out; more emphasis was laid on hardware construction while software was somewhat neglected; society support was not enough; education, consultation were the dominating work of mental promotion; while prevention was under development, the management was not systematical, staff were not enough.
