With the deepening of opening up and the reformation of higher education, the quantity of human resources demanded by our society has increased dramatically, especially those technological applied talents. The vocational colleges in China have emerged after the3rd session of the11th Party Congress for the adaptation of the development of economic society and the reformation of higher education. Due to the government’s high attention to higher vocational education, it has developed rapidly and the number of students in vocational colleges has been growing with each passing day. Higher vocational education is an important component of higher education so that how to cultivate those students in vocational colleges to be the talents demanded by our society is the significant responsibility and mission as well as the central work and duty for those virtue educationists in the vocational colleges. The key to education in vocational colleges is to cultivate the moral quality and psychological diathesis. The history of higher vocational education is only30years so that the mental health education in vocational colleges and universities has not started very long and the foundation is not fast. The mental health education in vocational institutes has its own regular pattern and mission because of the differences in goals with universities and the structure of students are complex and as well most students are from17to25years old which makes their comprehensive qualities weak and level of consciousness low. At present there are plenty of studies on mental health education of students in vocational institutes, but the studies are not thorough and deep and at the same time they don’t have a strong pertinence. Therefore, based on the investigation and study on mental health education in some vocational colleges in Yunnan province, this article analyzes and studies the current situation and existing problems in order to offer a proposal of higher vocational education in vocational institutes in Yunnan and hopefully provide some inspiration of improving mental health education of students in vocational colleges in Yunnan and provide some references for the application of mental health education in other vocational colleges.The article is mainly divided into four parts. Part one introduces the background and significance of selection of the subject. Part two is about the investigation and analysis of the current situation of mental health level of students and the efforts made by some vocational colleges to improve it. Part three points out the problems and insufficiency of mental health education in Yunnan. Part four provides detailed strategy and suggestion of mental health education in Yunnan according to the problems and insufficiency mentioned in part three. |
