| The early period of the Republic of China was a crucial period for educational and teaching development in modern Chinese education history. In the short 15 years from 1912 to 1927, some educationalists who were back from Europe or USA, with the advanced members of national education circle in view of continuous dogfights among militarists and the Northern Warlord government's not considering the circumstances of education, undertook the task of developing education under the guiding ideology—"saving the nation by education". They did a lot to develop Chinese education, such as inviting European or American famous scholars to give lectures, doing educational researchers and experiments. Under their active push, in this period, an unprecedented educational reform began in our nation, which came into being important influence. The deep research on the teaching thought development in the early period of the Republic of China not only can summarize the historical experience and lesson, but also can provide much important enlightenment for our modern education reform.This thesis consists of five parts:The first part is forward. It mainly introduces the reason and significance of this thesis, as well as the research history on the teaching thought in the early period of the Republic of China, and illustrates the thesis's framework and method.In part 2, the author analyses development reasons on teaching thought in the early period of the Republic of China. By analyzing the backgrounds of politics, economy and culture, the author thinks that the establishment of the Republic of China and warlord's dogfight provides loose developmental circumstance for teaching thoughts, the development of national industry has new asks to teaching, and May Fourth Movement liberates people's thought.In third part, the author make an historical investigation about teaching aim, teaching content, teaching method, teaching evaluation and teaching art. So this part reproduces the general picture of teaching thought in the early period of the Republic of China.In fourth part, the author analyzes basic characteristics of teaching thought in the early period of the Republic of China. They are: promoting and establishing new teaching thought, recommending a lot of foreign teaching theories, starting teaching reforms and experiments, paying attention to student's development and society demand in teaching reform, beginning to construct unattached system of instruction subject.In fifth part, by summarizing experiences and lessons, with linking nowadays reality, the author discourses modern enlightenment of teaching thought in the early period of the Republic of China. They are: actively promoting teaching reforms and experiments, strengthening the localization research of teaching thought, establishing the teaching thought of paying attention to students and their development, attaching importance to teaching's society function. |
