The most basic visual experience of human beings originates from the summary conscious of day and night, brightness and darkness. The electromagnetic wave which can be felt by our eyes is called light wave, or what we usually called light. It was said that light was one of the elements that exposes our life. It is the most splendid and magnificent experience for human's organs, and only artists and the ordinary people occasionally with poetic inspiration can insight its brilliant beauty through their aesthetic comprehension and appreciation. It is indispensable throughout an artist's work, in the building-up of the surface of a painting and the viewers' aesthetic appreciation, although, it was not obviously embodied exteriorly in the earliest artwork of painting. However, when developed in the heydays of paintings in Europe, light was vividly endowed with life in whatever way expressed. Naturally, Rembrandt is the most typical representative of those who were able to master and control light and shade extraordinarily. This essay firstly outlines the basic projecting means of light and the related consequences, then demonstrates Rembrandt's several well-known artworks, analyses his methods of creation and finds out the characteristics of Rembrandt's application of light projecting, from the writer's point of view. Secondly,-the essay covers the impact on the writer's own artistic experience and practice. After that, the essay discusses the interaction of the method of creation and visual aesthetics. Finally, the essay discusses how it inspires and enlightens the visual experience of modern art of painting.
