In contemporary literary circles in Zhejiang,Lee Hangyu is a very special writer. 1980s is the peak period of Lee Hangyu's novel writing. His series novels about Gechuan River have distinct fascination. He is considered as the one of the representative writers in the period of Culture retrospection Literature. The paper will hold the novels that he wrote in the 1980s.Lee Hangyu wrote abundant of novels in 1980s. He did his best to communicate culture with his readers, attempting to course the reader to WuYue Culture. Lee Hangyu was born in Shangdong. He witnessed the changing of Gechuan River and its coast with his eyes. His novels written in the 1980s show that the close relations between Gechuan River with the peasants, for example,《The people living on the Gechuan River》,《The last fisher》,《The Captain》,《A place in the world》,《The land and God》etc.His novels are filled with strong cultural sensitivity. Also Lee Hangyu succeed in the culture theory. The paper will explore the roles, the environment, language arts, folk depicting in the novels. The author would like to make a systematic approach on the novels that Lee Hangyu wrote in the 1980s.
