The traditional Chinese aesthetics, as part of the traditional culture, has its origin in the long-standing culture. Poetry and music, which originally melted each other, are the art forms that have direct influences on the traditional aesthetics and the aesthetic thought within them fully reveals the connotation and cultural spirit of Chinese traditional aesthetic thought.Piano music, which originated and developed in Europe, has been brought into China for more than a century. While learning from westerners about musical composition, generations of Chinese musicians have tried to explore national styles. They composed many piano works with Chinese features, some of which are related to poetry. This thesis tries to start the research from some important concepts in the aesthetic thought of poetry and music, namely harmony, artistic conception and artistic atmosphere and have a general and historic command over the traditional aesthetic thought so as to carry out analyses and discussions on some Chinese piano works related to poetry from aspects of cultural background, structure, composition methods and performance skills.
