The number of the festivals in the Tang Dynasty was the most in all dynast(?)ies in China's history. What's more, the festivals in the Tang Dynasty apparently began to change into amusement from sacrifice. So the social intension contained in the festivals in the Tang Dynasty was more and more abundant. We can find more social phenomena from the festivals in the Tang Dynasty than those in other dynast(?)ies.This article tried to analyze the festivals in the Tang Dynasty from the view of the social effectino. There are four main parts in this article. First, the festivals in the Tang Dynasty moralized the the Tang Dynasty people about filial piety. Second, We analyze the conservative and solemn social psychology of the Tang Dynasty from the begging and avoiding festival customs. Third, the travelling, enjoyment and dinners in the festivals in the Tang Dynasty affected and promoted a series of social psychology of the Tang Dynasty's people. Fourth, the betting behavior in the festivals remonstrated upon the social betting vogue in the Tang Dynasty.Finally, this article summarized the Trinity-like characteristics in the social functions of the f(?)stivals in the Tang Dynasty. And the author especially expressed his own opinions on the self-contradictory phenomena in the social functions of the f(?)stivals in the Tang Dynasty.
